Splish, splash.

Yesterday was probably one of the weirdest days here in Arizona, like, ever. Well, maybe besides that whole haboob fiasco. One minute I'm outside swimming in the warm sun with little Miss Selah, and the next I hear the pitter-pat of rain drops on the roof of the house. Sometimes I think that Arizona's Mother Nature needs to be tested for bipolar disorder and get on some medication for that, pronto.

But it's also thanks to Mother Nature's condition that we had a beautiful day here today. I could have stayed outside all day! Kendall and his nephew Cannon met me and Selah (the little one I babysit) at the splash pad at Tempe Marketplace for some swimming, pizzaing, and icecreaming. Awesome verbiage.

In other news, I'm stressed beyond belief about my upcoming wedding. I don't know how people plan these things without going into the insane asylum. I just might need to be medicated soon.

I just keep reminding myself that it's all worth it, and the excitement will far out way the anticipation.

Cinco de weekend.

Yes, my Cinco de Mayo weekend was crazy and full of partying.
If you consider going to Disneyland with your family for the weekend partying, like I do.
I came home with a pretty bad "hangover," too.
(ahem, hangover meaning being really really ridiculously tired from walking around all stinkin day.)
So that makes it legit, right?

This weekend, Kendall and I drove to Anaheim, California, to visit my family who drove down from Washington to go to Disneyland!
This was the first time Kendall was going to meet my family that lives there.
It was so much fun to spend the day in my favorite place with all my favorite people, especially my little brother who has autism.
It was a hard day for him, but he made the best of it and really warmed up to Kendall.
So I consider it a successful weekend, full of happiness, Dr. Pepper, and churros.

How was your Cinco de Mayo?

Strep throat.

You heard it right, two weeks before my wedding, and I have strep throat!
Just my luck.

Well, there was good news and bad news in that first sentence.
My wedding is in two weeks!
I seriously couldn't be happier.
I'm marrying the love of my life, the most amazing person I've ever met.
Ok, I promise I'm done being mushy.
Here are some Instagram pictures I took while in my horrible state of strep-ness.

1. I spent my day catching up on summer reading and wedding planning!
2. Kendall's not the biggest fan of dogs, so there was much needed Sirius-Kendall bonding time during our showing of Willow last night. Kendall washed his hands immediately after this picture was taken.
3. Everything is more romantic in Spanish!
4. A preview of my bridal shower! My future sister-in-laws (Bree and Ashtyn), Katie and Kendal did such an amazing job and I can't wait to show you some of the pictures that Ashtyn took!
(And yes, I had strep during my shower. Ha!)

Tomorrow me and Kendall are off to visit my family in California, and we're meeting them in my favorite place ever... Disneyfreakingland.
Hopefully by then the monster that is Strep will know it's not welcome in my favorite place ever. Ever.

The fairy tale love story.

I've surprisingly been getting a whole LOT of questions about everything that's going on here at the blog!
So, since I've never had frequently asked questions before, I decided to appease you and post about what ya'll are asking me!
And the basic question has been:
"How did he do it and show me your dang ring, giiiiiirl!"
So here goes! If you don't want to read the whole long story, skip to the bottom for the proposal.

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I'm a recent convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Way back in August, I was taking missionary discussions, and my missionaries happened to have two discussions planned at the same time, which meant they had to split up and have a guy from our ward be their companion instead. So in walks one of my missionaries, and Kendall Clark. I knew him a little from high school, because he was in wrestling with Jake, but I had never really been friends with him or known very much about him. The lesson goes by and the time comes that they need to leave, and after they're out the door, Katie says to me, "you could totally date Kendall."

What happened after that was crazy. I mean, it was a roller coaster of craziness. He comes to my baptism. Starts talking to me at ward activities. Likes my things on Facebook (what am I, in Junior High?). Then, a couple weeks after my baptism, I'm sitting on my computer, and a completely random message pops up on my screen. It was Kendall. Asking me to hang out with him that night.

I'm not one to be brave or to go out of my comfort zone in situations like these, especially when I'm already in bed, in my pajamas, eating ice cream, like most cool people do on Saturday nights. But something told me I needed to be brave. So of course, I did the opposite of what I would normally do, and I said yes.

After that night, we texted everyday and started hanging out more and more. Eventually we held hands. Eventually we kissed. Eventually we made it official. And in a fortunate series of events, we decided that we were perfect for each other, and wanted to be with each other forever.

Now, remember me saying I'm a convert? Well, converts have to deal with many challenges associated with their choices. One of my challenges was that my family was livid that I had chosen to be a Mormon. The idea of me also marrying a Mormon was unfathomable to them. So, we painstakingly waited for the right moment to tell my family. And then Kendall had "the talk" with my dad.

I didn't know how the talk went. I was scared all day. Kendall came and picked me up like nothing was happening and nothing had happened. He had no plans and asked me what I wanted to do. We decided to go eat at California Pizza Kitchen and stop at Barnes & Noble, then go back to his house for a movie.

We finish with our date and start heading back, when suddenly he turns off the path, and takes me down a different street. We stop in front of a house and he says "what's important about this place?" It was the place where I took my missionary discussions, where we first truly met. We drive away, back to his house. But he doesn't get out. He says "what's important about this place?" It was where we first told each other we loved each other, and where we spent so many nights telling each other how we felt. When we don't get out at his house, I know what's coming next. He stops at our friend Josh's house and says "what's special about this place?" It was the first place we kissed. We drive away, toward Main Street. When we get to the temple, we walk to the bench that we sit at every Sunday that we visit the temple. He asks me what's special about this place, and gets down on his knee.

It was so simple and perfect, and that's exactly why I love him.

The ring is pretty sweet too though, huh?

Lately.

Well first off I want to say,
 "Dear Instagram,
Thank you for living in my iPhone and making my pictures look artsy and pretty and like I might actually be talented at picture taking. And for helping me become a hipster.
Forever yours, Brittany."

1. My best friend had a birthday, which naturally means I get to eat delicious red velvet pizookies.
Happy birthday, Katie!
2. Since we last spoke, I have discovered that I'm allergic to milk.. I know what you're thinking. That chocolate soy milk looks delicious. And it was. Thanks future husband. I also discovered Nutella. Again, thanks future husband.
3. Bragging.
4. Bragging, again. I babysit the cutest girl in the world. So there.
5. Seriously, that face. That is the face me and Kendall are hoping to adopt in a couple weeks.
6. Yeah, we made a bed for her in a Walmart shopping cart. Because we're creative and stuff.
7. I figured out a new better way to do my hair. And I found my glasses.
8. My fiance started working with the kids I work with, so now we get to spend all day with each other! I have the best job ever, FACT.

This is my attempt at being a better blogger. Maybe I'll post Instagram pictures once a week. Maybe I won't.  But we all like to dream, and maybe I'll dream that my blog with be beautiful once again.

Maybe after finals.

No longer Brittany Lew Whoo.

Or, soon to be.

You may have noticed a few changes here at the ole' blog.
I'm so excited to announce that I'm engaged!
So soon enough, this blog will be all about me and my hubs and our adventures.
Which basically means I no longer have to pretend that my life is exciting, because it will be!
Well, I may still over-exaggerate.
Don't judge.

Anyways;
Welcome to the Diary of Lewis and Clark.
