The one you've been waiting for.

{shirt: Forever 21; cardigan: DownEast Basics; ring: Forever 21}

Today was a beautiful day in Mesatown. I got to wear a cardigan for the first time!
But that's not what this post is about.

For almost 8 months now, I have been deeply interested in a book.
It was something I never thought, in my wildest dreams, that I would read.
But one day, on a large rock in a forest, I had an experience that I could never forget.
I could not let go of that small whisper.
So, against everything I had ever believed, I read.

After I read, I spoke. I learned. I cried.
I felt unbelievable happiness, calmness, and comfort.
I believed.

On September 24th, 2011, I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It's something I've been scared to talk about on my blog because of the way people treated me when they found out. But I'm not scared anymore.
I know I'm the same person, the same Brittany; I'm just much happier than I ever have been!
I know I belong.

If you want to learn more about my church, go here.

Silly things.

I've been busy.
I've been doing a lot of things.
I've been doing a lot of serious things, actually.
So I'll start out with the silly, simple things.

Uno. Church activities sometimes result in making awesome delicious cakes and decorating them in awesome delicious ways. Yes, I like to use delicious to describe more than just food.

Dos. Working on fun crafts with my best friend. We've become obsessed with Pinterest and  finding cute crafty things to do.. if only we had time to do them all!

Tres. Sometimes your friends get sudden hulk-like strength and throw your guitar across the room in a fit of musical rage.. Or they just accidently bump into it during guitar class. I prefer telling people that the former happened, personally. It's more exciting.

Quatro. Harry Potter Puppy Pillow?

Cinco. I had my first Bahama Rama Mama. Oh my delicious. I'm so glad that Katie and I have nothing better to do than find sweet treats to eat on a Saturday night. If you've never had one, get off blogger and go get one. Now.

Ok, so that was just a bunch of random nonsense. Not only have I been bad at blogging, but I've been bad at picture taking as well!
But, October is my favorite month.
And therefore I'm making it a priority to be more creative and happy all month!
That includes taking pictures at every single activity I go to so that I can babble on about my boring life even more!
Aren't you excited?

ah!

You guys!
I have been a horrible blogger.
And I have left you all hanging for much too long.
Now that I feel my life getting back in order, and I feel like I can make time for things other than school, work and church, I promise I'm going to come up with some posts!
{I'm not promising they will be good.}
But they will be posts!
How are you guys?! Tell me everything.

I'll wear my pearls.

Lately I've been obsessed with playing my guitar.
It probably stemmed from be starting my guitar class at ASU, which is easy peasy lemon squeezy.
So! My guitar teacher gives me harder material to work on.
Which in turn makes me want to play more.
Which in turn makes me want to learn new songs!
Plus, I think it's been way too long since I've posted one of these.
Enjoy.

I really miss blogging.

And I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things.
My life has been one big rollercoaster ride after another, I just haven't had time to sit and think!
But I think about blogging all the time.
And what my next post is going to be about.
And hopefully, now that I'm functioning properly once again, I will be able to bring beautiful posts back into your lives! Aren't you excited? I know, me too.

Thank you to all of you who commented on my post last week, it feels so good to know that you guys care.
I guess I should finish the rest of my story.

I was pretty much a mess the entire week after the break up.
I couldn't eat. I couldn't be around people. I couldn't talk.
I felt all week that I hadn't gotten the chance to have my say on things. To tell him he was wrong and that I knew it was true in my heart.
That Sunday I got that chance.
I went to his house and told him everything that I had been keeping from him all week.
The answer from him was a resounding no. This isn't going to happen.
I cried, I left, for church.

On my way to church I felt an overwhelming calm come over me, a comforting feeling.
I haven't cried since.

Friendship.

..is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love.

I don't think there's an easy, or correct, way to write this post. I honestly don't want to write this post. It'll prove to be the icing on top of my huge mud pie of a week.
So, instead of focusing on the bad, I'm going to focus on the good.

Monday night when it happened, I walked all the way to Katie's house. No questions asked, she sat by me on the couch while I cried and told her everything. She drove me home because she knew I shouldn't be walking home that late at night.

When I texted her that I couldn't be alone the next morning, she called me immediately and told me I needed to come straight over. She spent the entire day with me, taking me with her on her errands and putting up with my sad puppydog mopeyness. In fact, she spent almost every waking second with me for the next few days.

She hugged me and told me it was all ok. That there was a plan and that either way, this breakup was a good thing. She knew me better than I knew myself in my time of denial. All I can say is that through all of this, no matter what happened between me and him, I'm so glad I had my best friend by my side. She showed me just how much I'm cared for and loved. And I love her so much. I really don't deserve such a good friend.

And this goes out to everyone who was so nice to me during that week! I'm sincerely so grateful to each and every one of you who took the time to make sure I was ok. I love you all so much!

Jake.
You've been my best friend for 5 years. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love you as my best friend, and that will never ever change. You're such a great person and showed me how to feel beautiful and confident and loved. I'm so glad this ended the way it did, where I can look back and know this is right.
You're so wonderful.
Thank you for everything.

Ok guys, I'm done with sappy posts! I just knew this had to be done.
Anyone want a mud pie? I've got plenty of time to make them now. :)
